  • I believe achieving optimal health and fitness requires the development of my three pillars of wellbeing: physical activity, mental stability and lifestyle choices. My philosophy is based around using science to help treat particular conditions, optimise athletic performance and induce lifestyle changes. There are so many opinions and ‘egos’ in the industry spreading false methods to lose weight or ‘fast track’ results. My methods and practices are solely based on evidence based research, providing clients with a realistic way to achieve their goals.
  • My degree in Exercise Physiology has shaped my knowledge of the human body, allowing me to contribute to people’s musculoskeletal, cardiac and neurological rehabilitation, in addition to prescribing functional treatments and training plans to athletic and healthy populations. Furthermore, my experience in the fitness industry has created a solid foundation in weight loss programming and nutrition, where I have had success with many different types of clients. This has further extended to strength and hypertrophy training, where many of my clients have competed in bodybuilding and power lifting competitions, which I thoroughly enjoy.
  • My background in various sports such as basketball, soccer and rugby have developed by understanding on how integral a community and social interaction is in maintaining a consistent routine in physical fitness. That, along with my achievements in endurance running, triathlons, Olympic and power lifting cross fit and martial arts have enabled me to pass on training disciplines and bring successful results to all my clients who follow my training philosophy and guide.

Due to my experience, I now know what is effective and important in this day and age. I believe in sport specific and functional training in both athlete development and maintenance. There are different coaching techniques and philosophies that I have been exposed to from a number of different coaches, and I believe there is confusion between what is and isn’t required in different athletes’ development. There are particular training modalities that should be used for assessments and practice, which I modify in order to provide my clients with the most beneficial results.

Specific goals are my passion, which should be worked towards in what a client wants, needs and requires. If you allow me to help, I will work with you towards accomplishing your goals and aim to work to perfection in all aspects of your training. With my experience playing top grade football for Sydney fc for 4 years, I strongly believe that getting the right combination of conditioning and resistance training is the key to a successful playing career and the development of a great athlete.

My journey was incredible where I have learnt many different methods and modalities from different coaches and systems over the past 20 years. Although it was an experience I would never turn back on, it was very hard work as I know what it takes to be an elite athlete and would like to share my experience and knowledge with you and help get you to where you want to be. Being a part of the Science of Healthy Living, I have finally found a philosophy to practice by. Together we will help many developed and developing athletes achieve their goals the right way, using the science, which has always brought me great results.

Annabel Saies

Originally from Adelaide I completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance Performance at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). At WAAPA I studied various contemporary dance disciplines including performance, choreography, dance teaching, anatomy and biomechanics. The diversity of my training and education has led me toward a life fulfilled by movement and the human body.

Most recently I completed a 200hr Vinyasa Yoga Teaching Training in Bali. This has inspired a new desire to teach yoga and dance, engaging in an environment where I can share my understanding, awareness and passion for the human body with a diverse range of people. What interests me in teaching yoga is that every single human body can practice it at any point in their lives, when they are both healthy sick or injured. I am excited to guide people toward connecting with their mind and body on a deeper level in order to free them from tension, stress and pain so they leave feeling energised, open and at ease in their body.

Like in life, I aim to generate a light-hearted, fun and enjoyable environment, where there is always room for laughter, questions and offerings from the students. My teaching style is influenced by my extensive dance training, where my creative side also inspires the yoga practice. The sequencing of poses is often linked together by dynamic movement in order to find space and a rhythm in the body connecting breath to each movement. My understanding of yoga is about bringing people together to share time, to learn about their bodies through movement and to enjoy themselves whilst doing so. Through The Science of Healthy Living I also hopes to take on an individual approach with my clients. I understand the necessity to personalise my teaching practice to address the needs of specific individuals, so that results and progress can be achieved.
